Happy Holidays from the Trans!

Yesterday was the second Thanksgiving that I cooked everything for dinner! Turned out great!! So following tradition that you decorate the day after, we kicked off Christmas here at our house! We broke out the Christmas tree and outdoor lights. After stringing all our lights outside, we decided we didn't like how they looked, so we get to do those AGAIN, but our tree and door turned out pretty good!

First House Guests

Griff and I are expecting our first house guests this week. I tend to be a bit of a "neat freak"...and Griff reminds me of it all the time! BUT...when you are getting your house ready for guests, you realize maybe you should be MORE of a "neat freak"! I have spent all day cleaning and still have such a long way to go to make it the way I want it to look. No more using our two extra bedrooms as a storage room! So much to do everywhere I look. Inside, outside, cleaning out closets, cleaning bathrooms...owning a home is hard work but we love it! :)

Fall Fun!!!

So both being from the very cool, crisp fall weather on the East coast, Griff and I are used to doing all the normal harvesty type activites. So we decided to go to a pumpkin patch (we were the ONLY ones there without a child) and pick out our pumpkins and corn stalks. We decorated our front door and carved our pumpkins...no laughing when you see our feable attempts-its been about 12 years since we both last carved a pumpkin! We are looking forward to Halloween night so we can hand out candy and show off our pumpkins-haha.

A New Beginning

Well, I have never blogged before and Griffith wasn't too enthused about making one, so I will have to be responsible for keeping this up-to-date! Being so far away from all of our family, I thought this would be a nice way to share with friends and loved ones what is new and exciting in our lives! So much has changed for us in the last few months, but I will try to keep it short and sweet!

Back in March, Griffith proposed and we quickly began planning our wedding!!!! Not only were we planning a wedding, but we decided to start looking for a house. We decided that this would be a great time to buy and so we began our quest of pursuing two of the most stressful events in one's life...at ONCE!!!! We may be viewed as crazy, but in our hearts, we knew it would work out.

The house was not an easy road. You can become so easily attached to something that just came into your sights and then realize it won't ever be. That happenned to us a lot during our house hunt, putting in offers only to realize for some silly reason it wouldn't work out. Finally we found a home that wasn't going to need much work at all and was basically move in ready! We put in an offer but the offer was not accepted. We were crushed but decided to move on and keep going. After putting in another offer and it not working out, we got a call that the house we really wanted was back on the market! We put our best foot forward and put in another offer. It was accepted and after 3 weeks or so of jumping through a million hoops, the house was ours!!! What a crazy thought--we are home owners.

About 3 weeks after we closed on the house it was time for our wedding!!! After months of planning, phone calls, and emails, the time had finally come! Family and friends made the WAY long trip to Boston for the big day! After an awesome week leading up to the wedding, Sept. 25th finally came! It was actually really surreal and I am still in shock that it is over. The wedding went off without any problems, the weather was gorgeous, and it was the greatest day of our lives! I actually cried when we got back to our hotel because it was all over!!! I was so sad! I am hoping to get pictures soon--will definitely post those!

So, in short that was our summer! I am graduating December 17th from ASU and after that we can finally just be a normal, working, married couple. No more planning, stressing, school, etc. We are definitely looking forward to that. :)

Today I was driving and thinking about the last few years of my life and cannot believe how much has changed and how every step along the way had a true purpose, even though I had no idea at the time! Everything really does happen for a reason!!!
